The Lymphatic system is the plumbing system of the body. There are times when it becomes impaired or sluggish. During these times, lymphatic treatment ,also known as manual lymphatic drainage can help. Signs of an impaired lymphatic system are a feeling of heaviness or fullness in a body part (usually an arm or leg), swelling and/or stiffness or limited range of motion or movement. It can come after surgery, radiation treatment or it can come seemingly out of the blue.

Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD)can be effective when there is swelling of any kind. This can be edema from a condition such a peripheral vascular disease, swelling after surgery or a medical procedure such as liposuction or a knee replacement.

Lymphatic drainage benefits

Lymphatic work has also been shown to help with the symptoms of many autoimmune disorders such as

  • fibromyalgia
  • chronic fatigue syndrome
  • rheumatoid arthritis.
